Brand identity and stationary design for a Portuguese olive oil brand. First, it captures our attention with its charm, and then enchants everyone who tastes it. After all, Galan Olive Oil is an authentic heartthrob.
Designing a stationery branding campaign for a food brand is never easy. The product must stand out on store shelves and grab immediate attention. Even the printed marketing material must generate interest in the minds of the customers. It is easier said than done as there is fierce competition in this market. Customers tend to have well-defined loyalties about their favourite brands and products.
Galan is a popular Portuguese olive oil brand and they wanted to reach out to newer markets with their branding campaign. The client gave me a small brief about the product “First, it captures our attention with its charm, and then enchants everyone who tastes it. After all, Galan Olive Oil is an authentic heartthrob.”
I immediately got down to the drawing board and wanted to imbibe the spirit of the product in the branding campaign. It had to appeal to the lovers of authentic products. After much brainstorming, I decided to work on a branding strategy that would separate Galan from its competitors. It would be in a league of its own.
The vertical use of the fonts in the Brand Name makes this product stand out when placed on store shelves. The large font size and choice of typography let customers spot the product from a distance. For the colours in the bottles, I went with Golden and Hickory Brown as these would break away from the monotony of green and yellow that are otherwise associated with this product segment.
While designing the business cards, envelopes, letterheads, and other stationery I used the same design philosophy of using a large font size. All these have a black and white colour scheme that is easy to distinguish in a crowd of other office stationery.
