DESIGNED BY MIGUEL SOEIRO
HAT is a vessel that can be used on the floor or counters for specific uses. It takes on the “tumbler doll” principle and is presented as a toy-object.
HAT belongs to a multi-author collection of small accessories for the home designed by some of the best Portuguese Designers, &blanc.
“Each &blanc piece is more than just an object, but rather a challenge which has become a reality.”
While diminutive, the accessories make a dramatic impact. Using modern digital production technology with manual craftsmanship, each object has its own story, and is not meant to be made in mass quantities. Together, the collection combines the different stories, background, and distinctions of the makers together to create objects with unique stories.
Let’s forget the whole form/function debate–these pieces from Portuguese Design outfit &blanc marry both into items you’ll love to show off as you use them. Yes, sometimes you can have it all.
The Designers themselves stress the individuality of their creations. In fact there’s more to it than that: “Each &blanc piece is more than just an object, but rather a challenge which has become a reality.”
The objects are made from CorianDuPont, which is one-third acrylic resin and two-thirds natural minerals, making them durable, nonporous, impact-and heat-resistant, and also low-maintenance.
